WHO KNEW TIKTOK COULD TURN INTO A PAYCHECK?
One random TikTok about a bodysuit sat there for months. Then it blew up and made thousands of dollars.
Jasmine, a Phoenix mom of four, joins us to share what really happened when one viral TikTok Shop video changed the game for her family. We get into how TikTok Shop commissions work, how she turns comments into new content, why she uses a separate phone for filming, and what happens when brands start flooding your inbox.
But it’s not all viral videos and free products. Jasmine gets real about hate comments, staying consistent through pregnancy and a newborn, and adjusting to a completely different financial reality after growing up without much money.
If you’ve ever wondered how creators actually make money on TikTok without millions of followers, this episode gives you the behind-the-scenes story.

Creator Phone And Focus Boundaries
SPEAKER_03Okay, so welcome to our podcast. This is a little bit different today because this podcast is a spin-off of our radio show. Thanks for coming on this podcast. How come we have two phones? You have a phone that's strictly for TikTok?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Like that's that that's your creator phone? Like that's the phone. Like you won't make content on your personal phone?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03How come? What what why? What is that?
SPEAKER_00I just feel like I I need to like I get distracted like very easily and like overstimulated and overwhelmed. So I'm like, I have to like if I go on business mode, I'm like, I'm gonna record content. I just I know I grab my 17 because that one's the best camera, everything. And then it's work. Also, okay, so going back a little bit when I only used to have one, and when I started like doing a lot of social media, I'd be like recording, I record on the TikTok app. And like my mom would call me or something, and and then I'd go back to that video, and I either lost like a couple seconds of the clip or like it muted, and then I was like, this is too much.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so the TikTok phone isn't actually a phone number. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it is a phone phone. Also, because I give like that number to brands and all of that. So, like my personal one is all my family, my kids, things like that. Okay. Like baby was just born, that's the phone that I take all the pictures with, like baby videos, and then the other one is just all like TikTok videos.
SPEAKER_03How many babies do you have now?
SPEAKER_00Four.
SPEAKER_03You have four kids.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And how long have you been doing the content thing? Like monetizing or not monetizing not monetizing since when you start doing TikTok. Okay. And is it TikTok over Instagram or is it everything?
SPEAKER_00It's um, well, it all started on TikTok, and then now I'm kind of growing like on Instagram too, a little bit of Facebook.
SPEAKER_03Where do you make most of your money?
SPEAKER_00TikTok.
SPEAKER_03What's the most
From Mortgage Calls To Getting Fired
SPEAKER_03amount of money you've made in one month?
SPEAKER_00Oh like 80,000.
SPEAKER_0380,000. Okay. Let's go to the beginning.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_03How does this start? And teach me. Okay. How does it start?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So let's go back back. Let's go back to um 2023.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00I'm working at a mortgage servicer and I'm freaking, I was gonna say something else, but I'm freaking miserable. Okay. I hate it. I cry every day on my way there. And I'm dropping off my at this time I have three kids. So the two, the two older ones go to my mother-in-law because the school's right across the street, and my little one goes to daycare. So every day I drop him off and then I go to work. This mortgage servicer, it sucks.
SPEAKER_03Mortgage servicer? Yes. I don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_00So basically, like if you have a you have your mortgage, um, let's say it's, I don't know, rocket mortgage. No, we're not sponsoring this. Everything has to be sponsored nowadays. Um and they pay like this big company, and that company has like all of the like rocket mortgage chase, things like that. So like they have all of the, it's weird. So like basically, if I would get a call and it'd be like incoming call, um chase, and then I'd have to do like fast, pull up my script. Thank you so much for calling Chase, blah, blah, blah. And then when I would hang up, it'd be like incoming call, Bank of America. So you would immediately have to like shift, like it's weird.
SPEAKER_03And you hated it.
SPEAKER_00I hated it. It was so bad. I mean, nobody's calling their mortgage servicer because they're happy.
SPEAKER_03Right, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_00So I was getting my ass chewed out every day. So it's miserable. And um, anyways, kid like starts getting sick all the freaking time at daycare. So I start missing a lot. And like I'm going through all of my like PTO, things like that. And then um, I and then I just start calling off without like, you know, I don't have any more time. And then one day I go into the office and there's a letter on my desk. And then the HR lady comes by and she's like, hey, like, come to my desk, come to my office, and blah, blah, blah, blah. The letter said that I was getting fired for job abandonment because I was missing too much and this and that. And I was like, Well, I have a sick kid and I can't take him to the daycare. He had hand, foot, mouth, and he has to stay away from everybody for like a whole month. Whatever. I get fired, and then um, I become a stay-at-home mom for like a year. Yeah, a little bit less than that. And I'm kind of
The First Viral Storytime Breakthrough
SPEAKER_00bored at home. I mean, there's always things to do, but I don't always want to be like folding laundry and stuff. So like I started recording, like making dinner and things like that. And it was so bad. Like, I look back to my old videos and I'm like, who let me do that? They're so bad. Um, and then I start like growing a little bit of audience. But where I noticed that people loved it is when I started um, do I call it cheese me? Do you know what cheese me is?
SPEAKER_03Cheese me, yeah, like joke.
SPEAKER_00Cheese me. Or in like gossiping and stuff. So like I would do like videos gossiping about stuff, I don't know, work stuff, you know, me and my sisters this, me and my sister's that. I was making a lemonade one time and I popped my phone up and I started talking about how I would never have a baby shower again if I had another baby because nobody went to my last baby shower. Well, that freaking video blew up. Um and what do you call blown up? It had like three million views. So to me, like a viral video is like millions. Right. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Sure, of course.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So I get like 17 from like 600 followers to like 17,000. Wow. And then I was like, okay, people are liking this. I started doing a little bit more of that. Um, but I wasn't getting paid. I thought that you had to have like millions of followers to get paid.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00Um, anyways, I'm just doing it for fun. I'm posting, I'm getting followers, and I'm building my little community and I love it. And TikTok shot became a thing in 2023. Okay. I think so. And but at this time, I'm like, I don't know. I don't know. I'm not really like, I'm not tech. I just hit record, say a bunch of stuff, and then like upload it and people like it.
SPEAKER_03Was it like minutes, a minute long clip, two-minute clip, or 15 seconds?
SPEAKER_00A minute. No, it was a it was a minute because I think I got paid
TikTok Shop Links And First Commissions
SPEAKER_00for that. Yeah, and it has to be a minute long. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So then what?
SPEAKER_00Um, okay, so then TikTok becomes a thing. TikTok shop becomes a thing, and I buy my first item off of there, off of somebody like promoting something, and I'm like, oh, this is nice. I think I bought like a bodysuit or something. And then when I got it, I put it on and I uploaded a video on it. Well, I met a girl on there. Um, like I had met her in person because I used to do a little bit of photography, and I took her family pictures, and she followed me back and she was like, Jasmine, I saw that you posted this bodysuit. She's like, put a link on there. And I was like, How do I do that? She's like, You can make money. Like, I've been doing that. And I'm like, Well, yeah, I bought a bodysuit off of your profile. And then she like kind of showed me a little bit. I started doing it. I was like posting things that I would buy, but nothing was happening. But I was like, I didn't care because I wasn't like doing it really expecting it. I mean, I was like hoping that something would work, but I don't know. And I didn't really know what was going on. Well, anyways, four months go by. So I posted that video in January when I first got the bodysuit. In May, I wake up one day and that video of the bodysuit has like three million views, three, five million views. I don't know. And something told me to go in my little like shop thing where you can check like your commissions and all that, and it said like four thousand dollars. And I was like, this is a joke. Like there's this is this there's no way. And I tell my husband, and he's like, Well, I mean, if it like if you get it, then you get it. If not, then oh well. We weren't like kind of counting on it. And the video just keeps going and going and going.
SPEAKER_03So you're selling bodysuits?
SPEAKER_00Body suits.
SPEAKER_03You just put a link on there.
SPEAKER_00I put a link on there, and like people just started like buying, and I guess. And so the money's rolling in. And eventually that video gets to like 30 million views. What?
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_00So that single like video overall like has made like over a hundred grand. What? In commission.
SPEAKER_03So that's like two years ago, two and a half, three years ago? Yeah. And since then, are you like, so now you're like, this is that took you off into making doing this for a living?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So obviously, like I don't make that much money off of every single video, but that definitely gave me a push.
SPEAKER_03Like so when that happens and you have a hundred thousand or four thousand dollars, are you like cash out now? So we know we have it. Do you transfer it to your accounts?
SPEAKER_00No, so it would it showed me like estimated commission. And I was like, okay, I have to wait. So I think you have to wait till the person, like all those shoppers receive, like as the shoppers are receiving their items, then you um, then you start getting your commission.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so then like take me after that. What happens? So now you're like,
Brand Requests And Building A Routine
SPEAKER_03I actually I gotta do this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So then I now you could do like video comment replies to people like on TikTok. So I was like, okay, I started like replying to people, like asking me, what size are you? Um, what size should I get? This and that. People were like putting their uh like their measurements and all that. So I started going in there, and every day I was doing video comment replies and then also adding that link. So then I go into my like requests and I have hundreds of requests from like brands. Hey, can we send you this? Can we send you that? So I go to the post office, I get a P.O. box, and I'm going to that shit every single day to like bring out stuff, all kinds of stuff. And I do mostly fashion, but now and then I I do still find that.
SPEAKER_03But they're sending you stuff to promote for free.
SPEAKER_00Promote. So they give me the the stuff. Um, like they're if I want to, obviously. Um and then I'll make the video and get commission. Sometimes I do like paid collabs plus commission. Um, but sometimes if I really want the item, I'm like, eh, it's free and I could get commission because I if I actually use it, I could show people that I'm actually using it and then get commission.
SPEAKER_03So if they say if you if they send you like a skin cream or something, yeah, and you just all you gotta do is post it and then with a link and then you get like 20% or 5% of whatever they sell. That's that's how that works, right? They're like, yeah, hey, if you do this for me, I'll give you a commission.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Like I wanted to get a sauna one time, and the sauna company was like, Hey, if you post this link, we'll give you a commission if you sell so many saunas. And I was like, I don't want to do that. It seems like a lot of work.
SPEAKER_00Okay, why?
SPEAKER_03I don't know. Is that what you're talking about?
SPEAKER_00Um give it to me. But that's what you're talking about, right?
SPEAKER_03Yes. So it's you have to sell a certain amount of products for them, and then you get it.
SPEAKER_00Not an amount. If I sell one, you get a commission.
SPEAKER_03But a percentage of whatever you sold.
SPEAKER_00Um, yes, like 10. I try to not do like less than 10.
SPEAKER_0310.
SPEAKER_0010%.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So what are some things that you got paid for without selling anything?
SPEAKER_00Um, well, like right now before I came, I got this um like foundation that I'm gonna try. And that one I was like, I mean, I use makeup every day. So I was like one video, $400 to 15% commission for um for every cell.
SPEAKER_03I mean, whatever you're doing, it's working because are you pulling in 80 grand a month? Like consistent.
SPEAKER_00Not anymore. Um, it's but I just had a baby eight weeks ago, so it's definitely slowed down.
SPEAKER_03I would think having a baby, you'd really connect with people, right?
SPEAKER_00Yes. So I kind of stopped stopped posting a lot when I was like seven months pregnant. Really, my whole pregnancy. I was really sick my whole, my whole pregnancy. Um, but like at like seven months pregnant, I kind of like stopped. And the thing with like TikTok shop, especially, is that there's a lot of competition right now. Like there is people are going all in, and there's like some people that are posting 20, 30 videos a day. So, I mean, if you're not posting, people aren't watching you, they're watching somebody else.
SPEAKER_03So um, but do you ever just post just because it hasn't there's nothing, no link, not trying to sell? Yeah. Like I would think having a baby, people want to follow your life.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I still post um like my cooking videos sometimes. Like, you know, I'll post the recipe. I still like to do stuff that I I other stuff that I really like to do other than sell. I do love to sell stuff and I do show stuff that like I really like and all of that. But I also like here and there, I do like to post my recipes, things that I do throughout the day, um, trips, things like that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but I saw uh I went on your TikTok or Instagram, one of them, and you were just like in Disneyland or Disney World or Disney?
SPEAKER_00Um, we did go to Disneyland, not recently, but we did. And then we were, oh, maybe you saw like the Disney and Hawaii thing.
SPEAKER_01That was that one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh, by the way, I was terribly sick on that um trip. I was pregnant and I didn't know.
SPEAKER_03Oh, but did you go? Was that one that was all comped?
SPEAKER_00Um, so I did make a chunk of money that month, and it was like perfect because it was like my son's birthday was around the corner and stuff, and it was, what did I sell?
SPEAKER_03But you didn't work a deal with Disney. Oh no. So you just promoted, you just posted a video.
SPEAKER_00Promoted something.
SPEAKER_03But the Disney video looks like you're promoting Disney. You're like, Does it look like I mean to me, I it looked like I when I watch some of these videos, I don't know. I don't, I don't know. Like it's like you you're during this trip. Like sometimes if I go somewhere I post it, I'm not tagging anybody anything because they're not sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. But like, so you just went to Disneyland or the dis the trip to Hawaii, yeah, and you paid for it on your your own. Yeah, and but you tagged Disney, you talked about it being Disney, but you didn't get anything from it.
SPEAKER_00No, I didn't get anything from them, not even a discount, not even a meal.
SPEAKER_03Well, it's good to know that you did it, that you're that you just do it because you love it.
SPEAKER_00Um, yeah, I really did. We did have a lot of fun. It was for my son's 15th birthday, and that was like his dream to go to Hawaii and stuff. So we made it happen, and it was all because of TikTok shop. I mean, this wouldn't none of like my life that has been happening recently would be possible, like without TikTok and like what else is happening that's crazy in your life besides the money and the brands.
SPEAKER_03You get recognized?
Handling Haters And Staying Motivated
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. Uh I don't know how to act though when I get recognized. Do you get recognized?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_00Stop.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no. Where are you from?
SPEAKER_00I'm from here, from Phoenix, but um, I lived in Mexico a big part of my life. Um, Sinaloa, culiacan, Sinaloa.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, big cartel town.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Wow. I never witnessed anything out of the ordinary though.
SPEAKER_03So where'd you go to high school?
SPEAKER_00Um, I went to Trevor, but I only made it to the ninth grade. Trevor Brown? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Dang you're tough.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I am. I only made it to the ninth grade, though, and then I had um my first baby, and I just couldn't get back in like it was just too much.
SPEAKER_03So now you're pulling all this money making TikToks like do you do the dances too ever? Or are you just super anything trending?
SPEAKER_00I can't dance.
SPEAKER_03Um But you don't do the trends?
SPEAKER_00No, not really. I'll just do it's mostly TikTok shop or like kind of like showing my life, cooking, or things like that. No, no damn. Um it's in that area too, but like uh a shapeless.
SPEAKER_03Like, what why? What was what is the brand?
SPEAKER_00It's shapelex. But again, people are gonna think that this is like sponsored or whatever. It doesn't matter. It's shapelex. It's like uh it's like a body, um, it's not a bodysuit. What is it called?
SPEAKER_03Shape Lex? Yes.
SPEAKER_00They do it for guys. I don't think so. You don't need it though. Um, you don't have a fupa. I do have a Fupa or an apron belly. That's my saying. Like, my this is gonna control your Fupa or your apron belly.
SPEAKER_03I like your when you show your videos, you're like pulling up your stomach. I've seen everything. I've seen, yeah. How does that make sense?
SPEAKER_00John Jay has seen my Fupa.
SPEAKER_03You guys well, everyone's seen your Fupa.
SPEAKER_00Um wait, sorry, what was the question?
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I don't know, but no, because you got you have this um this you're very secure, right? You're not insecure about anything.
SPEAKER_00Oh no. Uh I'm not. I've always I kind of always knew that I wanted to do something like along, I don't know. Like I like, I like the the showing like everything about me. Like I like to overshare. Is that a thing or something wrong with me?
SPEAKER_03No, I don't think you're saying what about haters? Do you have to deal with haters? Oh yeah. How do you deal with that? You gotta have thick skin, I think. Thick skin. Are you okay with that?
SPEAKER_00I'm okay with that. My sister was asking me the other day and I made a video about it. She said, um, Jasmine, like, I really want to do it. I just I can't. Like, I I if somebody comments something mean, I will, I will crawl and cry. And I was like, you know what motivates me? I was like, the other day we went to Chick-fil-A, and then she was almost $80 for my entire family. I was like, that is what keeps me motivated to keep on posting. Do you know how expensive it is out there? So yes, I'm going to do that.
SPEAKER_03Did you tag Chick-fil-A? Do you get any money from Chick-fil-A?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03But do you let them know?
SPEAKER_00Um, no, I should.
SPEAKER_03Are there any any restaurant endorsements you have?
SPEAKER_00I've gone to not like big like that, but I have gotten invites. Like there's the seafood boil place that opened in Avondale. They invited me. They said, order whatever you want, just make a video about your honesty.
SPEAKER_03And you'll do that?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I tore it up. It was delicious.
SPEAKER_03Take the whole family there?
SPEAKER_00Um, at that, where were my kids at? I don't know where my kids were at. So it was just me and my husband. What other places? Um, oh, we went to honestly, I don't know if that was my influence or my friends, but this weekend we went to, have you been to DiMaggio's? It's an Italian restaurant. So good. Um, anyways, I had my phone up on the table and I was like, I'm recording content. Is that okay? Like with your waiters and all that. Yeah, that's fine. And then when they came back, they were like, oh, my dad took care of it, the owner.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's cool.
SPEAKER_00Thanks.
SPEAKER_03Do your kids know mom's a content creator? Are you an influencer or content creator, or is it all the same?
SPEAKER_00I don't think it's all the same, but I would consider myself, I mean, I influence people to buy stuff every day.
Followers, Algorithms, And Content Mindset
SPEAKER_03What do you want to do next? Do you want to be on TV? I could see you being on TV.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I would love to do something like that. Um, I'm definitely not like I don't think this is like the end of me. Like, I don't think this is like what I definitely want to grow more. I don't know. I want to do something else. I feel like I'm stuck.
SPEAKER_03Do you have any consistent brands that you can you rely on their income every month? Like you know you got these three brand deals that's a foundation for income, or is it start fresh every month?
SPEAKER_00Um, well, I do work a lot with this shapeware company like that. Every month. Shapex. The shape lex, yeah. Them. Shapelex? Shapelex. Yeah, them. Good sending this. So there's them, and then, but other than that, it's just really like relying on if I get my ass up in the morning and just record videos.
SPEAKER_03And did you make any videos today?
SPEAKER_00Did I? No, because I took all of the chickens to the dentist, so I didn't have time. I took hours.
SPEAKER_03Do you have an endorsement deal with the dentist? I almost feel like you like everything you do, you should have some connection.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think so too, but no, I don't. And I was I was complaining at them because one of them had a cavity, and I was like, Do you know how expensive this is? You need a floss every night, dude.
SPEAKER_03Like, what do your parents think of this?
SPEAKER_00Um, so my both of my parents live in Mexico, they're divorced. Uh my mom loves it. She tells everybody that her daughter is like, she doesn't know. She didn't like she didn't know how to work her phone and stuff. So like somebody has to go and like show her my videos and all that. But um she tells everybody that like her daughter has, I don't know, is famous. And I'm like, mom. Like my mom thinks I have like a million like followers and stuff, and I'm like, stuck.
SPEAKER_03So how many followers do you have?
SPEAKER_00So on TikTok, it's a hundred and forty something like that.
SPEAKER_03140,000 and you're pulling in 80,000 a month. Yeah, that's pretty impressive. I think a lot of people now they think that you need millions of followers. That's what I thought. Because I've seen people, I think I read some article or somewhere somebody they think somebody had like 12,000 followers, somebody had 6,000 followers, and they just have all these brand deals because their 6,000 followers are 6,000 people that will buy whatever they're talking about, which is what you have. Right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, I I just think that now social media can just like take things out to a whole nother like there's everybody is on their phone now. I know sad.
SPEAKER_03I try not to be on my phone.
SPEAKER_00I try, it but it's hard. Like I'm I and I just feel like I'm constantly looking at like how I'm doing. How's this video doing? How's that doing? And I'm gonna go.
SPEAKER_03You gotta let that go. So you don't do you pay attention to the algorithm thing? Like for well, I don't know if it's TikTok and Instagram both, but like Instagram, the algorithm. Like I I work for iHeartMedia, and we have freaking meetings once a week about algorithms and do this and do that. So I'm just like, I don't care. I'm just gonna post what I want to post. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, it doesn't. I'm I'm more like just sharing whatever I'm doing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I almost make fun of you people. I I do I do these I do make fun of you people. Uh I do these unboxing videos. Okay. Because one of the things that's like very common with people is Amazon packages get delivered to your house all the time. Right. And my wife gets a lot of them. I get a lot of them, my kids get a lot of them. So I started doing uh the reverse of what you're doing. I'm paying for stuff and then opening it up and then giving them the plugs. It's the reverse, right? I'm paying for it. And I just look at what came because I ordered this three weeks ago. I came in today. This shirt came in yesterday. I'm a big ad for freshly. Freshly. No, I don't know if it's freshly, but do you do ads? No. Okay. No, no, no. I want to. I just seem like a lot of work.
SPEAKER_00It is, but it's also a lot of work to clock in and I don't want to clock.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, you've got a great point of view. I mean, you know, you're and plus I think you're better suited. You have like if I was Simon Cowell, I feel like you have the X factor. There's something about you that stands out. There is. There is. There's something like we'll probably be seeing a lot more of you in different venues or different types of platforms. I think you have a star.
SPEAKER_00So you know, I had uh an email from what is that show? The um is it Master Chef? What is the cooking show? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03There's a lot of cooking show.
SPEAKER_00It could have been like Master Chef or something. I had an email from them um one time. But I didn't have at that time an assistant to go. It's my sister. Um yeah.
SPEAKER_03Wait, is that her full-time job as being your assistant?
SPEAKER_00Well, she went to, she actually graduated from ASU to be a journalist, and she's never been a journalist. I don't think so.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00Now she just checks my emails.
SPEAKER_03Is she older or younger? She's older. So now she checks your emails?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So does she tell you, hey, today you've got this, this, and this, or or or do you tell her I don't want to do that? Like, is she full on your assistant?
SPEAKER_00She kind of like knows already like what I will do. Um, anything strange for a little piece of change? But she'll um be like, hey, they I I sent your uh media kit or whatever it is. She's really creative. She made me like a media kit and all that says like my prices. Hey, I'll do this many videos for this much. And some, I mean, obviously, brands, they're cheap. So they're gonna like try to bring
Assistants, Media Kits, And Pricing Deals
SPEAKER_00it down. And then she'll just confirm, is this okay? Um, she'll get back to them. Or sometimes if I really want something that I'm because I'm kind of cheap too. Like, I don't wanna, if I know that I could get it from a brand, like I'm not gonna spend money on it. Like, there was this baby item that I wanted for the baby, and it's like 500 bucks. And I was like, Oh, I kept looking at it at the store, and I was like, should I get it? Should I not? My sister reached out to them and they were like, Yeah, we'll send it to you. Like, we won't give you money up front, but we'll give you 10% commission like for every buyer.
SPEAKER_03And I was like, I need to hire your sister too. Maybe she can be because uh there's this thing I want. Um, it's and it's funny because I I reached out to them too. It's called a biocharger. Okay, it's this machine, it's like this thing, and it's like $20,000. And you turn it on, and all these lights go, and it's supposed to like help recharge your molecules and everything. I mean, it's really stupid.
SPEAKER_00Okay, can I come over and use it when you want to do it? Well, I want to put it in here. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03And I wanted to do it and have every part of the interview we do at the end of the interview, we biocharge. And I had this long conversation with them, and then they were like, they they were exactly what you said. They were like, We'll give you a link, and for everyone you sell, we'll give you 20%. And I'm like, I don't want to sell them. I don't want to, I just want to put it in here, and then people would Well, you need to start freaking selling things.
SPEAKER_00I'm pretty sure your viewers would buy. You know what I want?
SPEAKER_03What?
SPEAKER_00I want those um like full body massage chairs to like 10 grand. She should email one of them, huh?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, she should.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I I saw on your uh on your I think
GLP Partnerships And Platform Violations
SPEAKER_03it was Instagram, you were opening up, and it was really relatable for me because I do it too. The GLP thing.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Right? In fact, I thought the way you did was clever. I wanted to ask you this because you put GL and then you put the the P. Is that because you get shut down and you say GLP? Is that the truth? They will shut you down?
SPEAKER_00I got uh well, you'll get like a violation or whatever. I have one, I have one strike on my Instagram. Three strikes are out. Um one because I I just put it like that. I said uh GLP one, and then I when I opened Instagram back up, it was like red flag, you're trying to sell like medication that's not approved by blah blah blah.
SPEAKER_03The green piece, the green piece, the emoji of the green piece. So are you are you endorsing that or that's something you just bought?
SPEAKER_00Oh no, so I get my my GLP for free. And well, I shouldn't say free because I'm working, right? I'm like sharing it, and then um I get I get 50 bucks like for every person that signs up.
SPEAKER_03What company are you doing it for?
SPEAKER_00Fridays.
SPEAKER_03Fridays? Fridays, I've never heard of that before. I know the restaurant Fridays. That's not right. Well come get their Buffalo Wings and the G and then go do the Which one are you taking?
SPEAKER_00Tricephatide.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's a good one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I like it. Um, I was on semi-glutide and I hated it. It made me feel so sick.
SPEAKER_03Do you have a deal with them? Like, did you sign a contract with them?
SPEAKER_00I do have a contract.
SPEAKER_03How long is it run for?
SPEAKER_00I think it's is it a year?
SPEAKER_03Oh.
SPEAKER_00And then after that, we're gonna check in. I might just like once I get to my goal weight, I might just stay like on a maintenance one, like and do like a micro dosing, like just to because I gain weight so freaking fast.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, it's funny because I was gonna say I I I have a friend that owns a company and I think you should do their commercials. But you're doing Fridays already. I never heard of Friday. It doesn't even make sense. Why is it called Fridays?
SPEAKER_00I'm not sure. Maybe because everybody gets paid on Fridays so they could go spend their money.
SPEAKER_03So do you just do the the trisepatite or do you do all the other peptides with it?
SPEAKER_00I think mine has uh trisepatite and the one stuff for like your skin, like vitamins for what is it? Is it collagen or I don't know?
SPEAKER_03You gotta know this stuff. You're doing the commercials.
SPEAKER_00I will have to check my my recipe thing. I don't know. Um and yeah, I need to study my things better because just Well, I watched how you did it and you opened up.
SPEAKER_03That's exactly how it was funny watching it because I felt so relatable to you. Because I was like, that's what I do. When you open up, you took all the shots out, yeah, and you put the thing in, and I was like, okay, she's gonna did you I didn't watch the whole thing. Did you inject?
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, but I put an emoji over it.
SPEAKER_03Well, you uh will they block you for that too?
SPEAKER_00I'm not sure, but at this point, I'm not taking any chances.
SPEAKER_03Do you have a contact at TikTok? Like, is there anybody that works for TikTok that you talk to about anything?
SPEAKER_00Um, so when you're a they call it like star creator, like when you like sell a lot, like when you're selling a lot and like frequently things like that, um, you get like a what is it called? I don't know. I don't know what it's called, but you get a a person assigned and they kind of like help you, like if you have a violation, things like that. Um I just don't really feel like they're that helpful though. So I would say no.
SPEAKER_03Because you know, I had, I'm gonna say about three, four years ago, three or four years ago, I was sitting at a restaurant. Actually, it was like five or six years ago, sitting at a restaurant, and there was a guy bending over and I could see his butt crack. So I filmed his butt crack and I posted it on my Instagram. And then you and then you well, nothing happened, but you know how you get you ever go back and look at your memories?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So the memories came out uh like two years later. So this is about three years ago. An old video that video popped up in my memories, and I thought, let me post this on my TikTok. I had about 35,000 followers on TikTok. Let me post on my TikTok. I posted on my TikTok and I get shut down because it was this guy's butt crack. Yeah, and and not only did it get shut down, like my account went away. Oh no, it wasn't a warning, it was nothing, it was gone. And and I was in the but because I showed this butt crack, I've seen the craziest things on TikTok. Yes. And so I started a new account and now I have like 400 followers. It just sucks. I don't want to do it anymore. Guys, and so I'm like, if I found someone at TikTok that could re-give me my account back with my 35,000 followers, then I would do my Carol Baskin. Yeah, that's how long ago it was. Remember that one? Carol Baskin.
SPEAKER_00Maybe you just needed to like start fresh. Sometimes it's good to start fresh.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Because I also have a second account that I started like fresh just to have a backup in case something like that happens. And like some days that account makes more money than my big account. It's so weird. And I have 11,000 followers on it.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_03Are you are you were
Backup Accounts, Lives, And Creator Advice
SPEAKER_03you making your cooking videos? Are you showing people how to cook? Are you good doing like Mexican recipes?
SPEAKER_00I do a little bit of everything, like whatever the kids want to eat.
SPEAKER_03Spanish?
SPEAKER_00Asian, Mexican. Oh, do I have do I'm living in Spanish?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, I recently started a third account to do it in. I know. I'm I need to stop. Good for you. Like I'm complaining that I have so much on my plate, and I'm like, I should make it third.
SPEAKER_03What are all your account names?
SPEAKER_00Um, so my main one is the real Jasmine R, because my last name starts with an R. And there's a girl that is already the real Jasmine. And like I recently like went on her page. I check her page out sometimes, and like she doesn't post. And I'm like, can I can you just change your name so I can have it? Yeah. Uh is that legal? Like, can I buy that? Yeah, like can you just like change?
SPEAKER_03You have the real Jasmine R.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And then I have um Jasmine's Faves or something like that. I just do TikTok shop on that one. Like, I spam it all day with like shit to buy. Um, that one's the one that I'm telling you that has 11,000. And then I just started my um Spanish account. But I it's hard. Sometimes I take last like a week without posting on there. That one is soy yasmin, not jasmine, yasmin.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Do you do TikTok lives?
SPEAKER_00I used to. You know what I started feeling on TikTok live? Like my energy being like sucked out of me, like when I went on TikTok live. Really? I don't know. It's just so like, I don't know if it's people seeing you like in the present time and maybe there is haters behind that. I don't know if you believe in that stuff. I do. But like I would just get off live and I'd just be so drained.
SPEAKER_03What about do you have any tips for people if they want to start a TikTok? Like, is there do you have a system? Are you do you do you post every morning at 7 a.m. or every day at 11 or three times a day? Is it you just do whatever?
SPEAKER_00I hate that. I hate when people are like, these are the times that you post on TikTok, these are the days. And um, if you're not engaging from bottom to top, like no. Um, first, I mean, do it. Second, be yourself and not like stop being freaking scared of like what people are gonna say. So, like in the beginning, going back to the the bodysuit video, in the beginning, I was in there, like I would stay up at night deleting ugly comments. And then now that I make money, I'm like, sometimes I like reply to those mean comments, and then I'll go back to my analytics and I'm like, okay, that video comment reply that I replied to that mean person like made me two grand this month or something. So I'm like, Are you sometimes I'm like, Can you guys go in there and be mean?
SPEAKER_03So if someone breaks a mean comment, you'll go and be put the phone on and be like, hey, that comment was uncalled for. But anyway, here's a link to my shirt. Like, is that what you do?
SPEAKER_00Like they'll be like, your toes are ugly, and then I like go in there and like show my feet with the sandals, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
SPEAKER_03And then I'll you make money off your feet now, too?
SPEAKER_00No, I wish.
SPEAKER_03Um, my friend over there, Yeta. Yeah, she is on, she's on TV.
SPEAKER_00She's very famous. Can you take me on TV?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I was gonna say, Yeta, in fact, Yeta, can you join me in this podcast? Come here. Just come here. No, just come here. Maybe you can be you and me can be doing a podcast together. Welcome to Ebony and Ivory.
SPEAKER_02Live together in perfect harmony. Why don't you guys be on for that?
SPEAKER_03For Ebony for that song, yeah. You know Ebony and Ivory?
SPEAKER_02No, no. That's old school.
SPEAKER_03Ebony and Ivory.
SPEAKER_02Live to give. No.
SPEAKER_03Um what am I missing? What should I ask her? What would you ask her? You should go on, she should probably have you on the other side.
SPEAKER_02Is there anything you regret about doing this?
Money Regrets And Long-Term Goals
SPEAKER_03See.
SPEAKER_02You know, do you wish you could go back and do something differently?
SPEAKER_00Uh, one thing is getting like a what is it called? Like a financial advisor.
SPEAKER_03Ah, why it says I have one for you.
SPEAKER_00Perfect.
SPEAKER_03Maybe you do commercials for him.
SPEAKER_00Send him on.
SPEAKER_03I had him on this podcast. He's great.
SPEAKER_02Did you why did you spend your money too fast?
SPEAKER_00Um, yes. And then, I mean, I grew up like Section 8, food stamps, things like that. So I feel like when also my parents never spoke to us about money, credit, none of that. I mean, the first thing I did when I turned 18 was I went and got a stupid credit card at like those stores that give you like a freaking 30% interest rate. But, anyways, yeah, like I feel like when you grow up like that, you're just like desperate. I mean, the first month that I made money on TikTok shop, I was like, um, let's go to Hawaii.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the money burned a hole in your pocket.
SPEAKER_00Maui, Hawaii, because it was like my dream, and I thought I was never gonna get money again. So I was like, I have to do that. Like, I have to get that out of the way because I might never see a dollar again. And like, I have to get that out of my system.
SPEAKER_03What'd your husband do for a living?
SPEAKER_00Um, he works construction. He's a what is he, Tyler? Tyler, get over here. What company is it for? He's uh he does the stuff in the wall um to keep it oh, insulation. Insulation.
SPEAKER_03Why did he get this out for a big construction company or his own on his own?
SPEAKER_00So he's um like he's in the a union and then he's a union worker. Something like that.
SPEAKER_03You should probably know what he does.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. That that would be good.
SPEAKER_03Because as he say my wife, she does TikTok.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, he brags about me a lot.
SPEAKER_02Do you put him on your stuff? Um, yeah. We try.
SPEAKER_03What else would you ask him?
SPEAKER_02Uh do you have a financial? If you know that you do that, did you fix it yet? No. What why why why not?
SPEAKER_00Um, well, I'm I'm very like irresponsible. You have four kids, Jasmine.
SPEAKER_02That's hilarious.
SPEAKER_00Um, I just I don't know. You don't know.
SPEAKER_02Challenge's gonna get you somebody, don't worry.
SPEAKER_03I have a guy. I inter he's so interesting and he's really good. And he grew up very poor, and now he's very wealthy. Very rich, yeah. And he is he's something else. He is something else. He's great. He would he would have he I'll connect you with him. He's great. Stuart asset preservation.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you just gave him a shout out. He should pay you. Did he pay you? Do you have a link?
SPEAKER_03No, I no, I don't, but uh he's on this podcast.
SPEAKER_02What's the last name?
SPEAKER_03Stuart Willis.
SPEAKER_02Stuart Willis. Okay. That's your guy. What is the big goal? So a year from now, because you've been doing this for how long? Four, three, three-ish years. Yeah. So do you have a big goal where you want to be in this space?
SPEAKER_00Um, so I actually fun fact. I don't want to do like the TikTok shop thing forever. Like, I want to be able to go on TikTok and like not have a link for everything. Like, I want to just be completely like I am myself sometimes. Like, I am myself, but I'm not myself sometimes. Does that make sense? Like, yeah, you know, sometimes brands are like, hey, no, no, no cussing. I love to cuss.
SPEAKER_03Um and have you been fired from a brand?
SPEAKER_00Um, no, but one time I posted a video like throwing shade at another brand, and that brand was like, hey, you're out.
SPEAKER_03What about AI? You ever use any AI stuff?
SPEAKER_02Um, no. Is there a brand that you want? You can do it right now. Say it right now. They're watching.
SPEAKER_00Like, does it have to be like a place or um Disney? Like anything Disney.
SPEAKER_03Like I'm sure they do this. They must.
SPEAKER_00Anything Disney. Like, I would like what a dream to like go like to Disneyland or something and like actually say like here's what they do normally.
SPEAKER_03If that they open up like a new land or a new ride, they have influencers go and they look at the city.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I have not seen that. You haven't seen that? No. I just feel like Disney's so controlled. Or they just already know that. Yeah, and the people who do that are the people who work for them. That's what it seems like. No, I've done that before. Oh, so you are you're a Disney influencer?
SPEAKER_03Uh no, I went, they like they were opening Carsland. The last time I went in in this capacity was Carsland is opening up. So they asked me to do my show from there. Oh. And then like they give you the park before anybody else. Oh, wow. So I'm not waiting any lines. We're going on every single ride. We're doing over and over and over again. And then I would do my show. You know, like I was on there till 10, and then my wife would take the kids from seven to nine all over the park. And then at 10, we I'd get to join them, and then they open the park at noon.
SPEAKER_01I went to the party.
SPEAKER_03But there's radio shows and influencers everywhere. It's I mean, let's say there's a thousand of us, but a thousand of people in Disneyland is nothing.
SPEAKER_02Nothing. Yeah. Right.
SPEAKER_03So the next time they open, I mean, think about it, they opened up Carsland probably 15 years ago. Yeah. And that's a whole other story, too. I'll tell you off there. I got in trouble.
SPEAKER_00Like going
Wanting Disney And Less Salesy Content
SPEAKER_00back to that question, like what where do you want to be like in a year? Yeah. I don't want to be an affiliate. I want to be like an influencer. Now, what does that mean?
SPEAKER_02What does that mean?
SPEAKER_00So an affiliate is like you're selling something at all times. You're putting the link, you're you're being like more like a salesie. I want to be in a space where I know that I'm making money like from like views and stuff.
SPEAKER_03Or okay, so if you don't make money off of views yet, um because I don't think I mean like very little. But I mean like people I talked to that made money off of views, it's like you might have 10 million views and get $3. Like it's gotta be crazy at the views, right? Whereas you're what you're doing. So I talked to this lady one time. She uh she her links are Amazon links.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And she put every single like she's health and wellness. She's like, this is my electrolytes. Here are the cookies I get that have no seed oils in it. Here's where I go, and it's a link every single time. One time I was like, I was like, well, what is that? She was like, well, that's how she makes her money.
SPEAKER_00Well, I guess I should say, not necessarily like not have a link, but let's say I make a video of me and my family, I don't know, we're going to the dentist, and I like record that whole vlog. And people are always like, Jasmine, like I I like your outfit, things like that. Well, like you could find it already like in my in my bio or something like that. Where like I am making money from like links, but I'm not really like throwing it in your face. Like, you know, there's a link right now.
SPEAKER_02Yes, like she doesn't want to be a salesperson.
SPEAKER_00I don't want to be salesy. Like, I want to be myself. I want to be paid for it. Like, yes. Yes. Does that make any sense?
SPEAKER_02So that makes a lot of sense.
SPEAKER_03So let me ask you, Yeta. Yeah. You're a professional TV broadcaster.
SPEAKER_02I am. Doesn't it look like it?
SPEAKER_03Uh thanks a lot for bringing me on. Critique me, interviewing her, how'd I do it?
SPEAKER_02I I I was very interested. You were? Tyler and I were both like, yeah, that's a good question. Really? I thought the best part was still critiquing me. No, I'm sorry. Okay. So so I think you do a good job. I think you keep the conversation conversational.
SPEAKER_03Could I get a job at channel three? 100%. Do you really think I could jump?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, ask the bosses right now.
SPEAKER_03Wait, no.
SPEAKER_02You're already working for channel three. You're kind of an influencer for channel three.
SPEAKER_03I I don't think I could do news.
SPEAKER_02Why not?
SPEAKER_03Because I think I'd laugh at all the sad stuff. Like, you know, this guy murdered his whole family today.
SPEAKER_02Do I do a good job not laughing?
SPEAKER_03Oh, you're great. Yeah, think about it. Wait, wait, wait. So you were gonna ask you.
SPEAKER_02I don't laugh at sad things though. And I don't even think they're funny for that matter. Um, but no, no, no. What do you want to get out? You know, he asked you these great questions. They were great.
SPEAKER_03They were thanks.
SPEAKER_02But what is it that you want people to know? About me. Yeah, about all the things, all your stuff. And and you know, I think I think what people will glean from this is you know, you had a hard time at your nine to five, you got fired, and then you were like just randomly posting and you became this person that's making all this money. So, what is your advice to people if things kind of go south in their planned life? Because they really could just fall into something like you did.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I think that everything happens for a reason. So be patient, but work towards your goal. Like again, I knew that I kind of like wanted to be like an influencer and stuff, and I was posting already like an influencer. Obviously, my um, what is it? Like my aesthetics and all that, maybe my camera angles and all that weren't like an influencer at the time. They were terrible. But I was already posting like if I had a following and I didn't have a following. Oh, so you faked it till you made it. Yes.
SPEAKER_03Do you talk do you make your interviews like you're talking about like, hey, what's up, guys? Don't start your freaking idea like that.
SPEAKER_02That's where I don't get enough likes. You say, hey guys, I'm scrolling.
SPEAKER_03I know, but I do that for fun, can make fun of those people. I don't. I do it because I thought it was cool. Because do you talk like do you talk like you're is there a strat you talk like you're talking to one person? Hey, you know, you want you to do that.
SPEAKER_00I do it like if I'm talking to like my sister, like sometimes I'll even like hit record, and then I'd be like, So you know what I hate about like I'll do that. The movement just gets people, and then they feel like they're on FaceTime with you.
SPEAKER_02Wow. And you think about it like that, wow, and be on your TikTok.
SPEAKER_03Put a link to this shirt so you can buy your own.
SPEAKER_02So if if we were to tell you that your key right there, if you had to sell that right now, and we're gonna give you 10 grand for one post, how would you do it? You just you just know what to do.
SPEAKER_00So, okay, wait, this is a Chevy Tahoe key, blah blah blah. Sometimes if I just got this item and I'm like, oh shit, I gotta just get it out of the way right now, blah blah blah blah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you have to do it right now.
SPEAKER_00Or like, let's say I got this shirt and I'm like, I have to do it right now because I'm gonna wear it, and then if I don't do the video right now, I have to wait till I wash it again to like do the video then. So, okay, no, but the key.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Look how this works. Isn't this crazy?
SPEAKER_00I'll think about it first.
SPEAKER_03So you don't write anything down.
SPEAKER_00You know what I freaking hate about the other keys, and it like stresses me out is the fact that and then hold on. No, that's good.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no.
SPEAKER_00And then I'm like, what did happen to you?
SPEAKER_03Do you ever let mistakes stay?
SPEAKER_00So you have to sometimes, sometimes like saying stuff. So I'm I'm bilingual. So obviously, some things I say wrong, like, or it'll come out like weird, you know, with like an accent. So I'll leave it, and then people will go in there and correct me. And obviously, the comments, all of that bring traction because then people are gonna stay to the video so they can read the comments, and then your video is playing.
SPEAKER_02It's all a plan, John Jay. It's all a plan.
Talking Style, Mistakes, And Bilingual Moments
SPEAKER_03So let's go over some of your bilingual mistakes. Because my mother's Mexican, my mother's from Sonora. Santana.
SPEAKER_01My mom too.
SPEAKER_03No way.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. You guys are cousins.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah. So my mom and I grew up in Hermosillo and Santana and Nogales. So what are some things like my mom? When I was growing up here in Chandler, I moved we moved to Chandler when I was like uh 11. And my mom got a job at the drive-thru at Burger King.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_03And she would bring home these sandwiches all the time. And I'd be like, these are great, mom. She goes, these are the specialty sandwiches. And I was like, oh my God. So my sister and me, speciality sandwiches are great. Years of calling them specialty sandwiches. And then one day I'm with my buddies and we're going through the drive-thru Burger King. Like, well, Burger King, can I help you? And I go, Yeah, can I get the chicken speciality sandwich? And my buddy goes, What? I go, speciality. He goes, it's specialty. It's specialty sandwich. It's specialty. I was like, Mom. And my dad is from the Netherlands. So he How did that happen? I know they met at a restaurant. That's it. She was the hostess. He was the manager. So I came out looking like my dad. But my dad, we found a baby, a baby egg, an egg, right? And my dad was like, I was like, hey dad, maybe we can take this egg and it'll turn into whatever bird it is. He's like, we gotta go get a concubator. We put put the bird in the concubator, and then it's gonna be so then I go to all these stores looking for concubators and with my dad. And we like it was in Chandler, and we go to all these little thrifties or whatever. Yeah, we got this egg and we're looking for a concubator. Finally, the manager's like, concubor.
SPEAKER_02Incubator is incubator.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but as far as my mom goes, I have a thousand mis. She would never say the D in like world if you go. Oh my hijito, you're my favorite in the whole world. Mama said Gualmar.
SPEAKER_00What's that a Star Wars? Hi, Mama's Starbucks. Starbucks. My mom's like, oh, what isn't it? So when we go to Mexico to visit my mom, she lives in Rocky Point. So it's like a three and a half hour drive. She always Kentucky fried chicken. Kentucky.
SPEAKER_03So what have you can you recall mistakes you've made trying to translate like?
SPEAKER_02You have to really think about the word. A couple of that.
SPEAKER_00But like I always say like three. What do you say? Like I try to say three. Like for some reason, and it'll be like three.
SPEAKER_01Three?
SPEAKER_00I can't say you can't. Yeah, three. I can't like that. Just like some reason just talking fast and it just doesn't roll. Yeah. And and then some people will come in here and like correct it or or be like, did you just say blah blah blah? I don't know. I'd have to like really think about it, but um anything, or like if you did something wrong, people just want to be right and they'll go in there and correct. And I'm like, yeah, correct it. Anyways, I didn't get the $10,000. I didn't finish the video, the key.
SPEAKER_03But it was cool, it was cool watching you see how you do it.
SPEAKER_00I kind of feel like when you give immediately, like I'm talking to you, and like you have a problem, right? Do you have this problem like with your key?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you're talking to one person.
SPEAKER_00So then this one does this, and like you can turn your car on from here, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You get a car deal? Do you get a free car?
SPEAKER_02No. Do you want one? I do want one. John Jay, do you have anybody? Kathy. I did the idea. Did you get a free car?
SPEAKER_03No.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_03But anyway. Thanks, Jasmine.
SPEAKER_02Was this a good podcast? Was this a good great podcast? We didn't even do the action or nothing. We just started. Oh, he just walks you in. You know, that's really smart. What I do is I tell my camera people not to say go. Oh. So we do the same thing. People come and they sit down and they always wait for the camera person to go, okay, we're rolling. And I always tell them, don't say that. Don't tell me you're rolling.
SPEAKER_03I like to keep p song on you. You're like black, black, black. What do you mean you like it? I was not planning on. You can choose black socks, black pants, black tank cup, black.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes, yes. Black muscles. You forgot those.
SPEAKER_03Very muscular. Anyway. Good podcast, really. It was really cool having you. Have you done a lot of podcasts? Very insightful.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_03You used to have a show or something, too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, here. What was your show? Um my husband would just like talk about random stuff, like family, us, like shit that happened that week. Oh, that's interesting. Oh wow, what was the name of it? Um, real love, real life. It was just like real life. It just got like so
Pregnancy Scare, Baby Health, And Closing
SPEAKER_00hectic. I mean, the baby. Um also it got really scary because we, when I was 20 weeks pregnant, um, we had a scare. The doctor told me that my baby had this like heart condition. Um, that threw so many things off. Like I was just a mess, crying almost every day of my pregnancy, thinking about that. Then she was born and they couldn't see her until she was like six weeks. Like the cardiologist didn't have an appointment until then. Then he was like, Oh, well, I won't have the you can't meet. So they did like all her scans and stuff, and they're like, the cardiologist isn't available until two weeks after that. So those extra weeks, I was like, just like biting on my fingernails every day. So, anyways, it you didn't ask me, but um she she was born with uh a right aortic arch. So one of her things, one of the things that comes out of your heart is supposed to go left. Hers goes right, and it's wrapping around her um the eating tube or something. Eating tubes, esophagus, it's wrapping around something, and um, so we didn't know if she was gonna need to get that like snipped off. Uh as of right now, she doesn't. She might be growing out. That's great. Yeah, she might, she might not need it. Um, they're just gonna be checking on her every six months. So right now she's good. And then in January, she's she turned two months today.
SPEAKER_03Oh, do you do uh his insurance or do you get insurance being a talk tack per TikTok person?
SPEAKER_00Um his. Oh I was like, What? Whoa.
SPEAKER_03What's up, guys? Yeah, you should just start it right there. You gotta sell a key fob or something. You should just go. I was hearing children's hospital. Here's the link.
SPEAKER_02Set your appointments. Yes.
SPEAKER_03You're gonna have more kids. Thank you, Jasmine.
SPEAKER_02You want like a whole bunch of kids? I'm sorry, I just want to know are you gonna like keep having kids? Because that's a storyline. No. No.
SPEAKER_00I'm so done. I'm done. I wanted one more after more kids. I was like, five is perfect. Five. But um, so many scares with this one. I got to the hospital, there wasn't enough time to get the epidural. I felt everything. No, I don't want to have if I would have, if I wouldn't have had an epidural since my first kid, I probably would have stopped there.
SPEAKER_03You know you want to hear something kind of morbid.
SPEAKER_00Oh boy.
SPEAKER_03When my wife and I were dating, she wanted to have five kids.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_03Because she goes, What if one or two die?
SPEAKER_02Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_03And guess what? We had five kids and two died.
SPEAKER_02Stop. That's sad. Why did you bring the party down?
SPEAKER_03Well, I didn't. I mean, I was just trying to follow up with uh the way it was going.
SPEAKER_02Stop it right. And that's a true story. I did not know that.
SPEAKER_03You didn't know that.
SPEAKER_02Are they twins?
SPEAKER_03They're twins, twin girls. Oh man. I'm sorry. And I have three boys.
SPEAKER_02Sorry, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So anyway.
SPEAKER_02Okay, wrap, John Jay.
SPEAKER_03Is that a you want to wrap on a low note? Sorry. I tried to rap 15 minutes ago, but yet it kept yapping on our first episode of Ebody and Ivory.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Sorry.
SPEAKER_03What if we did a podcast together? What would you call it?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, what would you try to say? Would you do a podcast with me? I would absolutely do one with you.
SPEAKER_03But you have to wear that outfit every time.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I would find some variation of it and I'll have her help me. I'll put in the brand there, like a bunch of um These came from Amazon. Yeah, you get a link to it.
SPEAKER_03And these are Nikes. But thank you, Jasmine.
SPEAKER_00Thank you for bringing me.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so welcome to our podcast. This is a little bit different today because this podcast is a spin-off of our radio show.
